In Pinter's modern classic, Jerry - a successful and married London literary agent - has a nine-year affair with Emma, the wife of his publisher best friend Robert. What happens when we break the rules requiring fidelity to one's spouse and loyalty to our friends? Betrayal is a thoughtful and rich play about the difficulty in maintaining honesty with those closest to us.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - "Lauren Shouse brings just the right chilly, razor-sharp edginess to the production, and her actors capture the tension, fatigue and devastation that so much lying (whether to themselves or others) can generate." - Hedy Weiss, Chicago Sun-Times
RECOMMENDED - "...well-paced, astutely observed staging...fine performances make for a compelling, convincing 75 minutes" - Justin Hayford, Chicago Reader.
RECOMMENDED - "The play is well-staged, well-paced, with solid acting and proper attention given to Pinter’s trademark pauses." - Alex Huntsberger, TimeOut Chicago
