Sherry Bishop, Howe School
Raven Theatre has presented some of the most exciting childrens theatre in the
Chicagoland area. Our current programming of Aesops Fables and The Duck, The Bird and The Pea!
are filled with music, dance and a lot of humor, offering highly colorful
and imaginative adaptations of classic stories and fables weve
all grown up with, as well as some not so well known fables.
Through audience participation we introduce youngsters to the exhilaration
of live theatre. The performers
encourage children to respond vocally to the many predicaments that
the various characters find themselves in.
Through such active involvement children learn many of lifes
enduring lessons such as:
good sportsmanship
respect for differences
appreciation for the quality of others
strong social skills
the value of loyalty and true friendship
Both productions are ideal for children 3-8 years old. They
are designed to travel easily anywhere in the
chicagoland area throughout the year. Performances can be held in
a variety of locations ranging from a large
classroom to an auditorium, cafeteria or gymnasium.
$400 for one performance ($25 additional fee for sites more
than 20 miles from Chicago)
$275 for second consecutive performance
$350 Performance at Raven Theatre in our comfortable, modern main stage performance space
Optional question and answer session after the performance

EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH
As part of Raven Theatre's commitment to providing a strong cultural anchor in our community, we have established a viable ongoing theatre arts education program, which we offer to several area public elementary schools (Peirce, Stone, Hayt & Armstrong), by teaching theatre arts both in the classroom and at the Raven Theatre Complex.
Enriching the lives of economically disadvantaged children in our community is the number one goal of Raven Theatre’s Educational Outreach program. It provides students with an opportunity to learn the basic principles and disciplines of theatre, and to use theatre tools as a means of improving life skills. And we provide financially disadvantaged Chicago Public School students with the excitement of what is often their first exposure to the theatre and the first step toward a life-long interest in theatre arts.
If you would like to find out more about our Educational Outreach Program and how we might be able to work with your school in the future please contact us at 773.338.2177 or write to us at raventheatre@aol.com
